I went out to a friend's farm this morning to try for a coyote. A couple minutes into the second setup, a coyote came trotting in from my left. I swung the rifle off of the shooting sticks and barked at him to stop him broadside at about 25 yards. I shot him in the chest and he ran about 20 yards back in the direction he came from and piled up. I did a couple hurt dog yelps and then went back to whatever that melodious sound is that comes out of my yotehntr open reed call. Another 45 seconds or so, and a second one came in from the same direction and stopped facing me at about 40 yards. I shot her in the chest and she ran straight ahead and fell within a couple of feet of the first one. I called another minute of two, but no more takers. I forgot my camera, so I had to take the pictures with my phone.
Here is how they were laying before I moved them. The spots where they were shot are probably 40 yards apart:
