Title: Bocote crow call F/S...also looking for feedback (new design)
Post by: Coulter on April 19, 2007, 05:46:53 AM
I turned this one a week or two ago, but just got around to getting a picture done. It is a new design "The Double Bell". My wife thought she could pull the end of it out and screw it back in or something. It does appear to have that illusion. Let me knoiw what you guys think of the design. I might make some more of them. This one is for sale $22 delivered.

I like your design on this call cause I haven't seen it before. i think you should make some more of these . Try some howlers and open reed distress. I think you will do well with this style.

I like it!! That's creative!!

Just my personal opinion here. I can't tell just how long the call is so I'm just gonna add that I like my crow calls to have a long enough body so my fingers don't go over the bell. Sometimes it's windy & you need all the volume you can get. A muffled crow sound is deadly to the hunter.  :nofgr: I really like to use hand calls with an e-caller. You can't afford much movement when hunting them so no fingers over the end helps. I do like the lanyard groove. A crow call needs a deep one. They get caught on briars & everything else it seems like. HTH

Nice design on the call.  I am like your wife in that I look at that call and wonder how it comes apart - even though it doesn't come apart.

I like it too. Both design and wood.

The length of my crow calls are 3" long (not including the mouthpiece) including the one pictured. It seems to fit well in my hands, but if somebody asks for something longer, it certainly wouldn't be out of the question. Thanks for the comments, I might try a couple more in the future.

Hawks Feather...it isn't just you and my wife. It actually does look like it should come apart. I think That is why I like it. It plays with your head a bit :eyebrow:
