Thanks guys for the happy Birthday, It has been a good one so far, my Daughter that lives in Alabama is here for the weekend and she and her Husband are out looking for a house as they are planning to move back  here in May, that's a big Birthday present for me. I also got word from one of the hunt club members in Georgia that we caught a black Coyote in one of our traps. Hope they take some pictures. Hope all of you are having a great Day .cc

Happy Birthday partner!!! Come on over to the house, I'll let you shoot this new gun I just bought and you can shoot all you want. I will furnish the ammo. It's called a nail gun.

That's 2 black coyotes off of that place and yall had never seen one on there before. This past season I killed what I am guessing was the alpha male off of one of the farms I hunt and a black coyote has taken its place. It was seen 4 times in one week, so they must be denning somewhere close by. I'll get him come fall.

The next black one I get has Jim's name on it.

Ronnie, Sounds like you are still busy on the house, let me know when you get ready to start hunting again, I still have not  been able to call the one up behind the house , he may be call shy so I going to give him a week or two before calling again. Yes that's the second Black coyote off the club, nine dogs since last September, I think we have quite a few more as there have been several sitings, 21 Cats  since September also. Its amazing we were talking the last time down how that only a couple of Coyotes was  spotted during the Deer hunt this past season and to my knowledge no one has ever seen a black one before. This is the first one we have caught using a live Chicken. Yes the first Black Coyote I call in if he has a nice pelt will have Jim's name on it also. Be careful with that nail gun saw on the news this week were a guy was killed with one of them . cc

Happy B day!!

BTW - I talked to a trapper from over in Anson county NC last month who catches a lot of black coyote. He said that there is a property he traps where all he gets are black ones. Think he said 5-6 off it this past winter. He had lots of pics. Said he sells all his coyotes to pens.

I would prefer to call in the coyote and kill him myself for a trophy hide if Jim will tan for me. I appreciate the info and it is interesting that the ratio of Black Coyotes he catches. We just started trapping this past year and have not been that successful catching coyotes. I need some expert advise on what the best method is for catching them. We have caught 6 since September but feel like we have a lot more dogs than that. Its a lot more fun to call them in but we want to reduce the number on our Hunt club property to give the other game a better chance of survival .cc
