Nope. Nothing to do with fishing.

You might not believe what some of us have used for sinkers!

In Greece a few years ago, on our way to tour archaeological digs in a town 3000 years old, I saw local commercial fishermen who were using a head or chunk of old marble statue for anchors, etc. for their 20 foot boats.  They would pick a piece that had a shape easy to tie to, especially if it had a hole in it like the whazzat above.

Well that went horribly wrong! Let's try again. Is it a door weight!

Nope, not a door wieght. It is only an inch and a half long, but you would have found it on a door.

Is it one of those doo hickeys that you swing over the screen to hold it in or swing it the other way to remove the screen?

Bambam has identified this one. Was used to cover the hole for a skeleton key lock so no one could look through. Had to be on the inside of the door.
