This was and is a BIG DAY. God Himself came to earth to live as a man, to show us a better way and then die in our place for our failings. To comment on the pairs of words John quoted:
Wonderful Counselor: as a counselor/advisor He is wonderful, a word which means wise and amazing beyond our ability to say in our words.
Mighty God: among those called gods He is the REAL THING and the TOP DOG.
Eternal Father. A father who never fails us, never dies, never leaves us.
Prince of Peace: As Head of State His government is known for peace, not war, not strife. Man, do we ever need His rule and His style in the USA right now! I'd vote for Him to come back again.
