I don't know how this happened but holy crap. I thought it felt a little funky when I set the hook. And then kept veering sideways as I cranked it in.
I don't retrieve fast enough to accidentally snag a bluegill. So I'm wondering if I had a hit and then I snagged this bluegill while I was trying to set the hook. I can't quite get my head wrapped around it LOL

We now all know that you have not been using JUST your lures, but have been using LIVE bait as well. Going for that BIG pike weren't you!

Left pic looks like a bluegill in a bag & the right pic has a bluegill with that classic deer in the headlights look!!

Looks like the bluegill was swimming at an angle to the retrieve & got snagged thataway maybe.
