The other night ole' Mallardsr himself was back in Crossville. We hooked up kinda late, so we didn't get to go hunting, but we went and tried to howl up a few coyotes. :biggrin:
Anywho, we were having a good time going through all his calls, howling for coyotes with no response I might add, and just basically enjoying each others company. It wasn't long he made a wonderful chicken sound on a call. I snapped my head around and asked to see that call. I guess by the title of this thread you know who made it. Yep, ole' Jimmy Viniard himself.
It was the Cherry Crotch I was wanting so bad at the LBL drawing. I tooted on that bad boy a little bit and loved it. Talk about your functional calls, this thing was the stuff.
My hat's off to ya Jimmie, now maybe we can discuss getting one of those bad boys in my call bag....... :eyebrownod:

Yep, Mr. Jimmie sure can make some good sounding calls. Last year at the LBL he brought me one of his custom tuned closed reeds made from dogwood. If the cherry call sounds anything like mine then it's a good one.
