My younger son and his wife have been spending time with the kids of a single mother acquaintance, to give the kids some time around a man, maybe father figure. One of them is a boy about 10. We're not psychologists.
My son asked me to come along when he took the boy fishing and we helped him catch his first fish about six months ago. We went again last week, at a kid's fishing pond, and the pic below was his first fish of the day. Bobber and worm. It fought hard on 4 lb. test. The kid was excited, and afraid to touch it with his bare hand so had his hand pulled up in his shirt cuff to handle the trout. He learned how to handle and cast a spinning reel faster than anyone I've seen.

Good job. :highclap:
Amazing how many don't ever get the chance to enjoy the simple things in life.
your son is a noble man!
Great thing to do and also a great feeling for the boy. The only thing better is the feeling that an adult gets from helping a youth.
Them are the stories I like :congrats:
