Does anyone have any ballistics data for this cartridge? The concept of necking the 6.8 to 6mm sounds very exciting to me.
Dan please feel free to chime in I bet you already know the low down on this cartridge.
I've never head of that caliber. What kind of case does it use?
ErictheRed, I believe it is the 6.8spc necked down to 6mm???? Something like that with 75g bullets seems to appeal to me.
I looked on my ballistic charts. I have 6.5 but not anything in 6.8.
Rich, get ahold of Dtech(sp?),I saw where he made one up.He probably has some info on it.
THANKS Stray will do
D Tech didn't build the 6 WOA. He he bought it from White Oak Armament. I have a reamer being made right now for the 6 WOA. John Holliger has to OK the making of the reamer, as its kinda of a proprietary cartridge. I will be building chambered barrels, complete uppers and complete rifles in about a month. I have a Shilen select match 1-14 barrel contoured and waiting for the reamer. This rifle should shoot one hole groups. We will see, and I'll keep you updated.
The parent case is the old 300 Remington. The 6 WOA is more or less the 6.8 necked down to 6mm. Very close in size to the famed 6BR that is accurate as they come. I have great hopes for this caliber. The WOA will shoot a 70 grain bullet 3350 FPS. 107 at 2750 FPS.
Sounds good Dan keep me posted on how the work and performance is going. I am going to buy a new upper before next fall. I have been looking at different calibers trying to decide. I also like the 6.8 necked out to .308 on the other end. I love my 300whisper but it sure does get lonely.
When you get more info and get setup shoot me an E-mail and we will see if we can do business.
