Title: Lost another great one
Post by: remrogers on September 30, 2024, 10:13:08 AM
Kris Kristofferson has died.

Kristoffer Kristofferson (June 22, 1936 – September 28, 2024) was an American country singer, songwriter and actor. Among his songwriting credits are "Me and Bobby McGee", "For the Good Times", "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", and "Help Me Make It Through the Night", all of which were hits for other artists.

Kristofferson said that he would like the first three lines of Leonard Cohen's "Bird on the Wire" on his tombstone:

Like a bird on the wire
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free

Kristofferson died at his home in Maui on September 28, 2024, at the age of 88

Heard that news Saturday. His music was common ground in my house growing up.
