So I have this spot on our farm where I dump my deer carcasses in order to possibly chum in some yotes. After I get the first carcass out, I put up a cell cam in order to see what's going on without having to contaminate the area. I don't think it really matters though because the other day the big Dawg and I were there and I done a reset on the cam and kicked some of the bones and such back in the pile. Twenty minutes later I got picks of Wiley in for a snack. Anywho, here are some pics of some locals hitting the smorgasbord.

My brother piles up all his muskrat and beaver carcasses in a pit also and I put cams on it. It's so cool to see who comes in :eyebrownod:

Great stuff! I see that the bait pile is in a low spot below a break in the hill, plus looks like you have a good shooting spot from the old house up to the right.
A pro wolfer friend of mine in Canada told me to put my bait out next to some cover, and he preferred a big log. He worked for a huge ranch and had them drag dead critters and put them next to a big fallen cottonwood tree in a valley. He said that the critters feel more confident to come to the down log in the daylight rather than in wide open. They may be behind the log for awhile but they will give you a shot.
I don't know how true any of that is, just passing it along. :wo: He shot a truckload of coyotes from his bait pile by the down cottonwood.

Yes, and the old house is downwind normally from the pile. It's about 400 yards from my house and I can slip in on the downwind side using cover. The cam is facing NE and the bedding area is to the north and NE of the house. There is also a wooded draw behind the cam that ties in with thick woods to the north. They have to pop out in the open to either get to the bait or circle downwind of it.
