Steady rain and clouds so dark that I wondered if it would ever get light this morning. Much later daylight than usual, and damp wet cold rain just above freezing. Three deer lying on a neighbor's lawn, right out in the rain rather than under the limbs of nearby heavy cedar and fir trees.
Makes a man appreciate hot soup, hot coffee and a warm dry house.
The ice age has struck here, so much for global warming.
Were in the ice age too.
9 below zero this morning. Is a whopping 4 degrees right now.
The day after the tree blew down we got 10 inches of snow.

I'm sick of this crap already and the worst is yet to come.
That's COLD! I will admit that I prefer our cold rain to ice and snow, at least the kind of heavy wet snow we get here. For driving, I'll take rain over ice.
But if I am out hiking or hunting and backpack camping, I way prefer snow and temps below freezing rather than rain and wet. You can usually keep drier in snow than in rain, especially in camping conditions, and if you stay dry you can stay warm. You can shake off snow and break off ice, but not rain.
Saw a few big wet gobs of slushy snow come down on my windshield today, between rain drops.
