Sitting here sipping hot coffee this morning I realized that what is missing is the warmth of a wood stove. Cold rain out side, as per usual. I may head over to a friend's place where I love to sit by his stove.
Jim has a wood stove. I have electric heat in this apartment. But... Have I mentioned that my next door daughter-in-law brings me a custom latte every morning? :biggrin:

I was thinking the same thing. We went wood free years ago. Not sure it was a good move.

She's a crackling right now in the next room.
These cold, wet, nasty days.. it is so rewarding, and mind settling to come home from work and light that baby and relax.
Mannnn o mann I just love the serenity that spews from that thing.
We have a wood stove but it's an outside wood boiler. While the automation and having the mess outside is really nice, it sure wood (see what I did there?) be nice to side up to a woodstove with a cup of coffee to knock a chill off. We have a propane fireplace for that. It's nice but not the same.
