Men folk back when my grandpa was a lil feller routinely hunted ground hod during the depression. They had several family pictures with the men and boys with 2-3 ground hogs laid out in front of them. I think my uncle ended up with them.
Groundhog ain't bad. You have to slow cook 'em for a long time though.
I grew up eating ground grizzlies. I think the first time I ate beef was in Boot Camp. I'm going to try and pop one in the spring and throw him in the crockpot.

We ate alot of coon too and venison and bear year round 😉.

Brook trout and fiddleheads was the Spring meal.
Sounds yummy. I can never find enough fiddleheads to make a nice mess.
