We are having some temps right around 100 degrees and my air conditioner decided to quit making cold air. It is so easy to become accustomed to having air and then you don't. Guy is coming this morning to 'inspect' which cost around $100. Then they will assess which is probably another $100 and finally say that the unit is over 10 years old and needs to be replaced. The handwriting is on their bill already and they haven't even arrived.
Man, I feel for you.
Our Fall started abruptly three weeks ago, from sunny one day to cold fog at dawn the next day and every day after. It is 47 degrees here this morning, supposed to get up to 62 F. I am cold all the time, and have on a warm coat while sipping morning coffee because I hate to turn up the heat enough to make me really warm. Stingy is probably the more accurate word.
The best money I ever spent in my life was on a tiny 4500 BTU window mount air conditioner three days after my first baby was born. We lived in a little apartment in Southern California and temps were running a good 110 F every day, up to 121 one day. My bride and daughter were both drenched in sweat when they came home from the hospital. That little AC unit would keep the tiny bedroom cool and they lived in there. It cost me within a dollar of a full week's wages at the time. As said, best moeny ever spent.
Hope you get yours going without emptying your retirment.
