Title: My 1st handmade tone board (pic's)
Post by: AWSparrows on June 29, 2007, 08:34:57 PM

Its here, my first 100% custom open reed!

Here is my first fully funtional (that I would sell) custom call, Barrel, tone board, wedge, & reed.
Its short & raspy, it makes GREAT jackrabbit and fawn crys. It makes decent high pitch distress sounds but could be better I guess.
The body is 1&1/2" and 3&1/8" over all with the voice.

By the way...if your offering this one up for sale. I need to move it to the Hand Call Store...nothing personal

So give us the low down on it. What's your board made of?
Or maybe that's a trade secret.  :eyebrow:

Thanks everone,
I would have responded sooner but the family and I were at our cabin for the week.

Brent,
Its real raspy, makes a great jack or fawn bawl. It does ok with cottontail but could be a little better.

vvarmitr,
I'm gonna hang onto it for a bit, polish the tone board, change reed shapes and thickness.
Its Spalted oak, but I'm not sure if it red oak.
