Title: Cable Anchors ?
Post by: Mallardsr on July 07, 2007, 06:03:02 PM
Our state law  (TN) says the snare has to be a diameter of 5/64-3/32. I have run into a surplus of 3/16 cable and was considering making cable stakes from it. I couldnt find mention of any regs for stakes. Whatcha think?  :wo:

Not sure Mallard, but I was thinking of taking up trapping this year, let me know what you figure out.

I never saw a reg about the type of stake you use, however, some states [including NC] do have a reg associated with chain length. Ours have to be 8" or less on stake sets [except downing sets] unless an approved shock device is attached. You may just want to confirm if you have a chain length reg and if so, how they view cable stakes with regard to that. If your staking snares, I would doubt it would be an issue.
