I wonder why public schools no longer teach people to read? Or if they do,why employers don't make it a requirement for a job?
I mean really?
I put an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper with 1 inch bold block letters on my front door asking that all deliveries be made to the garage at the rear of the house. I even say Please and Thank You on the note.
This morning, the Fed Ex man arrives with a package, and as I am signing for it, he nonchalantly ask me if I know that I have a package from UPS at my front door.
I just shook my head and said - "This will be a good story for you back at the office wont it?" He just smiled.

Know how you feel Al. When I order stuff that I know will be delivered while no-one is home I always put in the comment box to leave at my neighbors or on the BACK porch as the road goes right by my front porch and I've had things to grow legs and walk off of it before. But the UPS guy seems to always leave it on the front porch. This week was a good example. The wife was home, the UPS guy knocked on the front door. By the time she got through the house and opened the door he had left it on the front porch and was backing out of the driveway. I'm just glad she was home this time or Cam would have been learning to trap with Popsicle sticks....
I always like when I am told that it "is not their job". In this case it "is not their job to read", just drop the package at the door. I have a new UPS person and I have to get him trained to take anything to the back porch. The letter carrier already does this and it really is nice when a package comes on Friday afternoon and we are out of town till late Sunday.

My UPS guy is great..... been the same guy for as long as I can remember. Fedx always seems to be a different person, but they all seem nice and always leave it on the back porch when I'm not there to greet them...... course my mail lady is the best of all
Well, my regular UPS Driver is in my Fish and Game Club, and his son is at West Point right now. He's a god guy. But if you could have seen the look on the Fed Ex guys face when he told me I had a package at the front door froim UPS, you would have busted a gut. It was really funny.
