Any takers?? :eyebrow: Pull the top off & screw in a new Cross type refill & keep writing. The shine comes back by hand buffing with paste wax. I used Carnauba wax on these. 3 coats.

That is cool !!!
That is very cool.
I've read a little about these. :eyebrownod:
Nice work for sure HaMer. I like the rifle pocket clip doo hickey. Very classy :yoyo:
Glen
Are those Pens a Pain in the Ass to make since EVERYTHING is so small ??? hell what size Hole is that where the Tip comes out of ??? about .080 ??? I SURE DO wish I knew how to use one of those Writing Contraptions :laf:
Maybe my Wife will teach me since she is SO GOOD at writing in the Check Book :madd: I also like the M-14(or is it sumptin else ??? ) on the one Pen,,you DID a Hell of a Job on them Glen :highclap:
Bob
Thanks for the kind words guys!!
Bob-- Where the pen comes out is a standard pen size just like all pens. The tricky stuff is all inside. :eyebrow:
They aren't real hard to make with regular wood but that maple will give a person some fits. It takes 2 hours of work just to get them ready for finish. But they are fun to make & I enjoy the time while I'm doing it.
Glen
I will find out the "Frustration" myself,,maybe this week sometime,,I am going to make some Keepers,,I will have to TRY and make some time,,I have been BUSY AS HELL !!! for being Laid off I Am awful busy  I KNOW they aren't near the Difficulty a Pen is BUT Knowing myself,I can make it Difficult
But that is what I was talking about in the previous Post,,that HOLE looks AWFUL SMALL :madd: heck at least when I make something on a Lathe out of Steel,I can use a Reamer and its done,,But if I was Boring a Good size Hole it was STILL a Pain in the Ass,,unless it was a Grease Groove and I had .015" - .025",,Hell A Blind Man could hit that Tolerance !!!
Even a HALF Blind man could hit that Tolerance
But that damn Small Hole in the end of that Pen looks REAL SMALL !!!
Bob
#1 & #4 HAVE BEEN SOLD!!
All have been sold now!!
If you make any more I would really like to have one with the rifle as the clip!
Sorry I missed this post I have been very busy.
Awesome Job! :highclap:
April
Sorry I didn't see this Good looking pens there
Oh wait I was looking at the one I got a few weeks back :laf:
Good job Glen
I will be making more for sure. I will post them here to be seen. Thanks for the kind words!!
I received my pen from Glen, the other day,.. :highclap: and wanted to say they are well made and very attractive, definately don't let anyone borrow it! :nofgr: because I'm sure you would never see it again!
I got the one with the rifle as the pocket clip, they write nice and smooth and are well balanced to hold.
Thanks Glen
April
^^^ Ditto! ;yes;
Sometimes it's hard to believe HaMeR made it. :laf:
Thanks for the kind words April & :wo: VV!!
:laf: :laf:
Very Nice looking pens HaMeR, I'll chalk that up on the list of things I need to try someday :iroll:
Steve
Thanks Coulter!! Just holler & I'll get you one. Or two. Or three.
I would love to get one from ya, but I gotta be honest...I would either tear it apart to see how it was made, or I would chew the end of it off. Bad habit I guess. Again they are beautiful pens and you can't go wrong on the price your asking. That is dirt cheap for a custom turned pen :shck: I was actually thinking about turning a few for Christmas gifts or something. Lets see some more of what ya have
Steve
Yeah quit holding out on us :eyebrow:
:laf: @ the pen chewer!!
I'll get a few posted that I have here for you all to see.
And as for the prices,,, I think they are fair myself. They are Cross pens & use Cross refills. The local Staples sell the cheap plastic Cross pens starting @ $19.99!! :rolleye: To me thats just too much when you can have something to actually look at & know it was made one at a time versus 100's per minute from a machine. These are truly "Made in America" pens & will stay that way forever. Mainly cuz I don't think there's a better place on this Earth to live!! I'll get a few pics up for you here in a day or two. I gotta go to my 2nd job now & sling some paint. :eyebrow:
Here ya go.
The 1st 3 are from the same board. I am just beginning to get an understanding of what each pen will/could look like before turning from this board. Then when I'm done & the denatured alcohol hits it I am always pleasantly surprised at what Mother Nature & a very kind farmer has given me.

Thanks Steve. I have you taken care of & I hope you like it!!
Does it matter which wood??
Wood hell...I thought you were making it from gen-u-wine elephant ivory
Nope doesn't really matter. I'm sure you'll pick something pretty sweet
Steve
Elephant Ivory??!! On a Jet Mini lathe!!??
:roflmao: :roflmao:
I do have an idea.
I've been working on these for a while now. It took some time to find the wood but Bill (bnccont) helped me with that. Then the engraver wouldn't get back to me for some reason. I sure hope all is well on his end too. But finally I got them done. I call these "FREEDOM" pens. They are engraved & the engraving is filled with queens gold & have a rifle clip. I have 5 (3 left) of these for $25 S&I each. They will be delivered in a suede pouch & slid into a plastic case. If you just want to display this pen simply take it out of the blue pouch,, put the pouch in the case & slide the pen back in using the pouch for a nice dark blue background. A couple of the above pens are still for sale as well & will be delivered the same way.
Thanks for looking!!
Edited to add only 3 left.
Nice stuff Buddy :yoyo:
Thanks Jim!! Now I know what the call makers go thru on their fancy calls & exactly why they price them the way they do. And this is just the basic stuff I'm doing for now. :eyebrow:
Sold 2 of the "Freedom" pens!!
Only 3 left!! Better hurry!!

It's time you learn to spin acrylic Glen......I've patiently awaited :eyebrownod:
Transparent colored acrylic, not that stuff that looks like a bowling ball.
I had the chance to hold these pens. They are very well crafted. They are well worth the buck
I am glad I got mine last summer
 I've been thinking about it Jim. But I seem to be in the midst of a dilemma on it. I might know how to do it but just not positive yet. :wo:
Thanks Bill!!
Well, the problem is you'll never know unless you try. Thinking about it aint gonna, i say it aint gonna resolve anything.
Roll your sleeves up and git er done :yoyo:
Oh and i get first dibs  :eyebrow:
