Post by: yucca on September 08, 2007, 09:11:44 PM
A savage model 99 250-3000. I hope to get a few coyotes on it this coming season. Here are the pics:

That firearm is in EXCELLENT shape and if the inside of the barrel looks anything like the outside, you will have a pretty good shooter.

How do you like the tripod base for shooting?  I have read of several people using them and the articles said that they really liked them.  They were using them for larger game, but since the adjust down it seems like it would be a winner.

Now that's a super sharp looking 99, a true classic... both rifle and chambering !!!  :congrats: :highclap:

A treasure.... I wish Savage still made them today!

The 99's action design and rotary box magazine combined makes it one of the few lever actions that will seldom jam... it can even function with the action turned upside down.

You did well

Edited: to correct spelling error  :doh2:

Jerry,
I really like the bog-pod tripod. I have always used sticks. I really like these bog-pods. I'm 6'2 and I can shoot from a seated position or a standing position with this tripod quickly,

Very nice!  :yoyo:

I've always wanted a .250 Savage, so I'm going to re-barrel my Remington 700 Titanium and use it as my primary deer rifle.

one of my uncles (he passed away quite a few years ago) had one of these. he was talking aout selling it and i asked what he wanted forit. he said "i wouldnt sell it to you because you would use it for groundhogs and its a deer rifle".
though he had another DEER RIFLE ( a 99 savahe in 300 savage) the 250 was his go to gun. never got rid of it saying if he traded it in somewhere i would probably find it and buy it.
after his passing (i waited awhile) i asked my one cousin if i could buy it, if for nothing else so i could have one of his guns. "if dad knew i sold it to you he would turn over in his grave"; ended up with his model 24 double barrel in 16 ga.
