Title: Dinner with Bill and Chris
Post by: studabaka on October 02, 2007, 07:38:03 PM
Well I'm happy to report that they are having a good trip and we were able to hook up for dinner as they cruised south.

Real nice folks for sure. We were chatting away like old friends [  which I guess we kinda are] even though we had just actually met  :eyebrownod: We had a very nice visit capped off by a deer grunting / bleating lesson in the parking lot of Friday's. We were getting some strange looks for sure, but there was no stopping us. I needed some hands on learning and bill was doing the teaching. He even had a few of his calls with him, told me to pick one, and then told me to keep it  He proceeded to demonstrate proper technique with me trying to mimick. A couple times I could see a fleating grin try and cross his face, but to his credit he never laughed out loud  :hahaha: He showed me grunts and bleats and even goat bauls. He showed me how to adjust the reed for each different sound and how to adjust it to get the sound ya want. He also shared his technique on sounds, sequence, repetition, etc. I learned a bunch and can't wait to give it a go in the morning.

Thanks Bill and Chris!! I'm glad I was able to be a part of your long over due and well deserved vacation. Hope your having a great time  :yoyo:

I'm glad you guys followed through on your hook up. I'm even more glad you shared it us.

Did Bill; get the calls out at the supper table and start taking em apart on his dirty plate ...kinda like the phots he posts or did he seek out a decently clean spot to do it?  :roflmao:

Ditto all the above, although I haven't met Bill in person, talked with him on the phone and bought a few calls from him, he for sure is genuine and I consider him a good Friend. Glad he finally got to go on the vacation. cc
