Looking to put a scope on my Marlin 336 in 35rem. I am thinking about a fixed power for this hard hitting brush gun but was wondering what you all thought. I was thinkning something in about a 4 power.
Personally I prefer iron sights on my lever guns. However, a Leupold FX-II 2.5x20mm Ultralight is ascetically pleasing on a Marlin 336. The Leupold FX-II 4x33mm is not bad either, but anything else to my eyes just looks out of place. YMMV
Love those Marlin 336 in 35Rem!!!!!! ;yes; :yoyo:
I had a 2 1/2 (?) - 7X Burris Compact on my BLR & if I still had my 35 that would be what I'd put on it. Didn't look outta place IMHO.
Bonehead, SIL, has my 35, but that's okay I have his 220Swift Ruger #1. :eyebrow:
I have an older Winchester 32 special, was thinking about puting on a Leup vx/3 1.5-5 x20 . Also been reading about one of those new Trijicon 1.25 - 4 x 24mm Accu Points , might be the one fer ya > try reading up on one! They say that it is a fast reticle ,that permits both eyes open aiming. Yet is good enough for precise shots out to 300 - 400 yds.

Well the Leupy is for the time being out of my price range but a Nikon might be in the future. Cant really decide yet tho.
Found me a bushnell banner scope that I may jus thave to thin about but I dont have any experience with them. What do you all think about the Banner series of scopes?
I have the Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn 3-9x40 on my 50cal Winchester Ml & it still shoots where it's supposed to at 50 & 125yds. It has the CircleX reticle which I've become very fond of quickly. The Banner lineup should handle your 35Rem just fine. The 3-9x can be left on 3-5x for hunting & 9x at the range. HTH
