Anyone ever try it?
I had a brain fart tonight when I was rummaging through the shop and noticed Kyle helped himself to my crow decoys. Thinking about setting up a few them near a stand when calling?
No need for decoys in my area because I have the real things circling or sitting in trees on about a third of my stands. Some days it is better than that. Just like ravens in the west, crows dont hurt. Seems to add to the story.
I encourage it .

Yeah the crows are usually the first on the scene here too, but I figured a few decoys would give the crows that much more confidence, which in turn would be passed on to the coyotes :eyebrow:
What I hate about the crows benig around is they are so noisey I can't hear Mr. Wiley coming. But they do add to the realizing of a stand.
Never over crow dekes but I have hunted with a turkey decoy. Worked too. We constantly find feather bombs were the coyotes have nailed a turkey who got too close to the brush.
I think the crows give the coyotes confidence. Crows have exceptional eyesight, and if they dont spook, I think the coyotes feel safer. But it sure doesn't take much to get them to spook around here.
If you ever try it with Browning204 though, be prepared. He saw a few land in a tree over my head one day and opened up with his Wildlife Tech caller and I thought I was in a rerun of Hitchcocks "The Birds". Darn crows were squaking and crapping all over. I had to run for my life.

Oh my God, I remember that, it was funny!!!
I usually have Red Tailed Hawks come in for a looksie.
Maybe that's why he was running. Hawks usually have a bigger payload :laf:
