Went out Sunday nite and hit a few spots. Called in another 4 bobcats - all within shotgun range.
Coyotes were very vocal - but not very active. We had one stand that we went thru normal distress sounds - heard several groups start howling, and I got on the howler and started howling back. Didn't have much faith it would do much good - I've seen and heard ilcoyote howl them in - but I've never had his success at it. Late in the stand one crossed the road and was coming in - Larry's got the light on him - and a car comes by - ruining his shot. He didn't want to shoot towards the road with a chance of hitting the car- and the road had a slight curve - the headlights lit us up like a Christmas tree.
A couple stands later - same scenario. Distress just got several groups howling - and no eyes. After distess sounds and howling - and a long wait here comes some eyes. This time when the coyote crossed the road he got a 32grain v-max when he was in a safe location - and before he got our wind.
Looked like a male in his prime - he stopped loving her today...............
That is another good looking coat on that one.
