It started out as a crow call and when I went to set the reed I cracked the ebony where the reed was going.Wrong size hole :doh2: so I glued up the crack and set a howler reed in it and does she sound sharp .
The ebony runs the full lenght of the call the coco is just a sleeve over top of the ebony for looks
let me know what ya think of it

Thanks for looking
I think if you fine tune the finish work, and it appears to be mostly around the mouth of the barrel where the coco slides over the ebony, your gona have ya fine toot'n call, and endless wood combo possibilities.
I agree with ya Todd once I cracked the ebony I just gave up on it ,but fine tuning the sizes and the barrel end won't take much I am looking forward to making a few more of these
And I'm looking forward to seeing them, maybe a closed reed even. :innocentwhistle:
It looks good Bill. For a crow call I would like to see a little more flare on the bell tho. Other than that & what Todd mentioned it's a nice call that shows creativity on your part. There may be only so many ways to turn a block of wood but the combinations of wood, acrylic,& antler is quite high!! Keep at it!!
Just think if you turned down to the Ebony in the middle just a little, making a black band & still having the grain of the coco lining up perfectly. :eyebrow: And maybe a little more exposure at the bell.
