Had a good duck shoot over the weekend.
Here's a mixed limit that includes: Canvasbacks, gadwalls, ringnecked ducks, redheads and shovelors.

Good looking dog and nice pile of ducks. Canvasbacks and Redheads are rare around here. I've only seen one of each. What is a ring necked duck? Never heard of them!
Nice pics Randy!!
A ring neck duck is a duck with a ring around it's neck :innocentwhistle: Kinda self explanitory don't ya think :eyebrow:
Just foolin never heard of them either
Ring necked ducks are commonly called ringbills or ringers. Their proper name is Ringnecked duck. They are very much like blue bills. Similar coloring for the most part. A bit smaller.
Even though there is a distinctive ring on their bills, there is a faint ring on the neck when in full plumage.
Lookin good Sir!! Nice pics and thanks for sharing....I did that waterfowl thing for many years....brings back some wonderful memories...
Joe
Very nice.
You certianly have a way with those bird dogs :sneer:
Hey you gotta find that picture of a close up on one of the dogs watching some come in, and you can see the reflection of the ducks in the dog's eye.....and post it. Man that's a calendar shot for sure. :eyebrownod:

Them smilin' mallards ought to be tasty! :eyebrow: Fun to shoot though.Nice hunt!

Today the wife had the camera at her mom's so no pics but this morning we went out and shot some redheads, ringnecks and a limit of 11 and 12 pound honkers! One was banded.
Tomorrow's a new day. You'd better hunker down! HA HA HA :roflmao:
