Hey, I just started the recylcling deal. I'm not a naturalist, errrr earth saver,,, but I bet I can
turn in enough cans to support my shooting habbit :eyebrow: I'm giving it a whirl to see
if we can get enough money for shotgun shells and other needs next year. Pee on the
enconomy reform refund , er whatever its called ( thats going tward the oil bill for last/this year ) , I'm saving $.05 deposit cans !!! WOOOHOOOO !! all that money I've been neglecting........ LOL..... Seriously I'm giving it a SERIOUS TRY.
I'll let ya'll know in a year what I come up with.
( a man from the uppper midwest gave me this idea by saving cans for his high school sports teams,
he saved around $10 grand !!!! )
In Michigan the deposit is 10 cents. My family returns around $40 a month. Being we return them at the grocery store it all gos towards groceries. There is a bill they are trying to get past to make all bottles returnable. Right now it is just carbonated drinks.
If you give it an honest try you should be able to come up with a decent amount.
When I was younger there was a guy in the area that went around the country roads and picked up returnables, mostly beer cans from guys booze cruising. Rumor has it he paid for the quad that he used in search of those cans.
my g/f saves them also friends give them to her she takes them back and buys diepers for our baby with them with her losing her job the lilbit extra helps
We dont have any refund value on our cans, but lots of folks do save them and cash them in when they get a bunch. I'm not even sure what they are worth around here.
I have seen some of those machines that you just walk up to, dump your cans in and it spits out money...in a neighboring town.
If I had time I'd crush and save ours, let us know how you fare.
