Reed insert is mahogany. I read that it will turn more purple when exposed to sunlight. Any experience on this? I also did a call body out of bloodwood the other night and i`ll post a pic when i get the finish straightened out  :madd:. I usually do my work in black walnut or cherry but i just ordered some turning blanks and started playing with them.

I like the shape. Looks easy to hold onto with gloves on & I just plain old like a flared bell on the end like that. The grain seems to have a little action to it also. The little bit of PH I've seen was very straight. I think you have a nice looking call there for sure.  :congrats: :congrats:

I made a couple pens from PH & they did darken quite a bit.

Rich,

Looks pretty good from here.  Nice finish and since I have one of your calls, I can say that it holds nice as well.
