My uncle Kent is my lifetime best friend and hunting partner. He taught me to shoot, hunt, trap, fish and this includes calling predators. In so many ways he's taught me how to live and act right. I killed my first deer with one of his rifles. I killed my first squirrel with his Winchester Model 12. I killed my first fox coming in to his call. I caught my first catfish while sittin' on the bank with him. He's been a trapper for over about 30 years. He's a fine taxidermist and most of all a fine American. We've traveled a lot of miles together and are always planning more good times. Last week Kent was diagnosed with cancer on his stomach and esophagus.
I would like to ask the entire board to pray for his speedy recovery.
Here's a picture from this past weekend:

Prayers from NC for the full and speedy recovery of your Uncle and Ronnie's Dad.
I probably don't need to say this and I'm betting that neither Ronnie's dad or your uncle would even ask..... but boys, now would be a good time to return a bit of time to these men who helped make ya who ya are. Hopefully ya'll are close by and/or you can monkey your schedules. They have to fight the fight, but having somebody there in their corner to focus on why they need to fight, makes a big difference. Regardless of how things go, they will appreciate it and you will feel better looking back on it..... Carpie diem boys.
May God bless you all!!
Prayers from PA as well...Cancer is pretty nasty but it can be beat. My wife's side of the family (including my wife, her mother and her aunt) have all beat it in various forms from skin cancer to ovarian to breast. Tell 'em both to hang in there and live life to the fullest. I know they won't feel up to immediately, but after the chemo is over anyway.

You got 'em boy's. And do everything you can to help them keep positive. I know it does help when they know their family is in their corner. My FIL had a heart transplant many years ago and is still with us today, one of the longest living recipients in the country. His grandchildren weren't even born then, but he has lived to see them all grown . Jimmie
Prayer sent for both! May God bless both of them!

Thanks to all of you guys for the overwhelming support. I know what a difference it makes to have prayer going up from so many. My dad received the same blessing when he was diagnosed. He has now been cancer free going on 4 years! :congrats:
Our thanks to all of you,
JB
Any of you guys that have been through something like this or another tragedy in your life, know how much prayer does help. I sat here yesterday morning reading all of the responses and got teared up, just thinking how a lot of you fellas I don't even know personally but feel like I do through this board. An there are a lot of you that I do know and have hunted with, that I consider some of my best friends. Enough of the syrup..... I just wanted to say thanks for the prayers and the up lifting words they really do help in a time like this.
