Title: coon call
Post by: frshwtr on March 01, 2008, 10:04:29 AM
somewhere around here is a post from ORION showing another coon call made for one of the members. well that was me; the call is a real joy to hold and play with. havent had time to really put the call to a lot of tests but i can tell you it isnt hard to sound like a angry coon( i know that sound from trapping and haveing old boar coon tied up on drags). this is the first coon call i'v been exposed to other than a tape from Dennis Kirk (coon puppies) so i'm excited to say the least. course if anybody wants to give me some tips on how to get variations in sounds i'm all ears.

yes thats the one; i tried to find it to post on the pictures but couldnt. i'd love to share a sound clip with you but i really dont know how; besides i'm pretty challenged on the computor. forgot to add that Mr. Yancey also sent me a latnard with two dops to hold the call just in case it came apart that i wouldnt lose part of it. i know bowslinger also had one made maybe he could/would help us out with a sound clip.

yep that pretty much sounds like the one i got; now i'm still looking for a coonpuppies in distress. i guess i'll try with different openreeds. i already know arkies kat killer does some good bird sounds. does anybody else have any ideas. i did see where some body was asking about a reed for a coon call, maybe i'll just have to find one of those. maybe after i have it somebody might want to borrow it to see if they can put a call together with their own reed system to call coons.
