Caught 6 of these guys, must have been some type of breeding/fighting ritual.
Got a quick shot off at em before they thundered away.

What is it Silencer? I knocked off a few of our state birds last week.
sorry, its a Ruffed Grouse  didnt realize I neglected the name :laf:
Looks different then the roughs we have up here, but non the less probably taste just as good. Ya clean them the same way, by standing on the wings? :innocentwhistle:
Yepper, stand on the wings and pull the feet :eyebrow:
I was just shooting with the camera, no gun here. They're not in season until the fall.
Their cool looking birds aint they :eyebrownod:
Pretty nice shot of that one
They're really good eating, better than KFC

COOL PICS!! :congrats: :congrats:
Yipper, and carry a pair of cutters to clip the wings.
I saw one in southeast Ohio years ago while hunting gray squirrels. It was a quick glance, like a second before it flew around a tree and continued on (out of sight). I did see a few up in Alaska. They just sat there by the side of the road waiting for "bus people" to throw crackers.
Jerry
bus people :roflmao: :roflmao:
C'mon Jerry. You mean retired folks heading to Brandon, MO :laf:
Wow! Thanks Vic. I love hunting ol' Ruff, but sad to say they aren't around here much anymore. :sad2:
