I'm closing down Champion Tannery.
Lord knows it's definitely not due to lack of business :nono:
I stopped accepting hides back in November and weighed things out as I finish up the last few furs that came in. Normally I'd stop accepting in April and then I'm still full to the walls processing furs deep into August. Just in time for the September Bow rush which kicks of the season every year.
With Fins and Fur and all it's subsidiaries, hosting clients, site design, and the new job, somethings gotta give. :eyebrownod:
As I finish the last few furs out there and look out over the empty hooks and open space, you have no idea what a feeling of relief it puts over me.
Close to 200 fur hooks full, nearly year around for the last 12 years...I think I burned myself out on it. 12 years is enough of that aint it?
I'll be much more content, building people sites, taking care of hosting issues and spending more time on here, in the woods and on the river. I'm certain of it. :eyebrownod:
I have been referring all inquires from the tannery web site to K&K Tannery in Osseo Michigan. These guy do awesome work, and have a helluva family owned business going.
They can be reached at www.KandKTannery.com
I believe Studabaka is eventually going to take on some tanning clients also. He should be comfortable enough with his abilities at this point to begin such an endeavor. He hasn't been on here for a few weeks so I cannot confirm that.
Lastly, I would like to thank any prior Champion Tannery clients reading this, for the opportunity to serve them for the last 12 years. The pleasure was truly mine, I thank you all for the business's huge success.
Well, if you are feeling relieved, then it is the right thing to do. While you didn't do any hides for me, I am sure that there are others that will be sorry to hear this news.
Jerry
I wish you the best Jim, and I hope you get some Quality outdoors time from this.
