I was in Gander Mtn. the other day and saw an AR-15 made by Bushmaster. OHHHH Baby!!!! Did I fall in love with that gun or what!!!
Anyone got any advice before I go buy that sucker..........????
I use to own an AR-15 that I had built in the early 90's..........I sold it for $300 just before the ban took place..........what a gourd head I am.... :rolleye:
Anywho......I was wondering more about the quality of bushmaster. I'm familiar with the name, but not really the quality of their product.........any and all suggestions will be good.
Bushmasters have a good name but I think an Oly is as good or better and a whole lot cheaper. Most Bushies that I've seen are pretty high $,seems like youre paying for the name.Ya might want to check around before ya buy.
Never owned one, but I thought Bushmaster was the lower end make of these guns. No?
Bushmaster is pretty high on the factory AR list.If I were you i would shop around or even have one built. The Bushmasters use a chroam lined bore. The chroam lined bore was made for durability not accuracy.A good chroam moly barrel will be more accurate. If you know what you are doing you could build a much better rifle for less. You might want to do some reading over at AR15 .com
Not all Bushmasters have a chrome lined bore. The Varminters don't and I believe the new "Predator" doesn't either. They are a fine shooting rifle. I had a 24" Varminter but the barrel was a bit to long for a coyote gun. So I sold it and bought a 20" RRA.
Bushmasters are the best of the factory built AR's. The only AR that could be considered better would be the custom by a known riflesmith. And then not by much.
Yup guys i was wrong. The new bushmaster predator and varminter do have chrome moly barrels.Should make a nice little rifle.
Sounds like I might be getting one of these little bad boys...look out for coyote tails and teeth..... :laf:
Bopeye,
The bushmasters are good rifles, but dollars to donuts I think the DPMS is the best rifle for the money. Just my opinion, but you can't go wrong with either. I have shot the snot out of mine and I love it. I just learned a new trick from a guy at AR15.com on how to quiet the buffer spring a little and I think I am going to do it before next weekend to see how good it works.

Feel us in on your new trick, snob! Dont hold back ,lmao
get that rubber stuff you dip your tool handles in. (you can get it at Lowes) dip your buffer spring in there hang it up and let it dry, once it is dry do it again let it dry then put it back in your gun. He says it quiets it down.

The Bushy will make a good rifle. I personally like the RRA's but watch out for those DPMS black rifles. I hear in the right hands they won't shoot :madd:
Oh :rolleye: :rolleye: :rolleye: :rolleye: :rolleye: Don you suck man :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: Steve and I know where you live, we will see how good that shoot out there in Owasso.
Leave it to Don to disparrage the good name of DPMS... :shck: :shck: :shck: :shck: :shck:
