Title: Season opener
Post by: sleddogg on November 02, 2006, 06:54:20 PM
Got my new "Furball" call from Tony, and its all that and a bag of chips.  Works on all our preds here in the East. Nice sound, jackrabbit to cottontail, and good volume if needed.

So today was our coyote opener, and I called a fox (I passed), a young bobcat (not season yet), and 2 coyotes with the Furball. I missed one coyote, and connected on this female.

Lots of action, fur looks good.

The miss was on a hard charger in the woods, and I could not stop him with a bark or a yell. I shot and missed, he was gone in the blink of an eye

Gun was a 221 Fireball, and for all the gun types, load was 18.3 RL 7, 50 grain Sierra SP, CCI standard primer.

Congratulations Sleddog. Sounds like one hell of an opener, to bad the cat wasn't in season.

Sure is an awful red color phase, looks neat. I caught one a few years ago trapping that dern near looked like a red fox.

Keep after em
