Almost came home empty handed this morning. Rick223 changed his mind about going. Just had his gallbladder removed and said he didnt think he could pull it off...so away I went. Couldn't even get Kyle out of bed to go with me.
7 large mouth no bigger then 13 inches, (which are illegal to keep here) and these two smallies which went into the smoker.

Nice fat ones there Jim, I'm heading down just before dark, got a call at work today and my bud told me the smallies and walleye have been hitting the clippers ( helgramites ) pretty good.
Yeah and the one in your left hand has some neat color to it? Do ya notice a difference in the bass colorations, depending on where ya catch them?
Smoked bass huh?
Jim,
You gotta be happy with those! Smoked fish sounds good.
Jerry
I never could figure out smoked fish :wo: I mean really where do they carry their cigarettes and lighter :roflmao: :roflmao: nice lookin fish Jim
Can't say that I do Todd, but I almost never catch certain species where I'm not expecting them. That, and I've been fishing the same spots for each type for so long that maybe I'm not aware of any variances.
Those two Smallies were holed up about 20 feet from each and they were both the same color. So I have noticed that they lose their colorful configuration as they die. The little one had been in the bucket for about 45 minutes before I caught the big one. And the big one here had only been out of the water for 20 minutes when the pic was taken.
Smoke one for me Jimbo and tell a good story while youre eatin it.........I will get out sometime......maybe
Those are a couple good lookin' smallmouth Jim. :yoyo:
