Got a request several weeks ago to make a raccoon call that makes a sound like the old Burnham brothers calls.  The shape would be hard to match as they were plastic and had a square barrel.  A friend that has one in his collection said his is blue in color.   The desired sound was a high pitched bird sound and after working on it for a while I think I got it pretty close.  Call is two piece maple with o-rings for a nice tight fit.

not only does t look good it sounds good too.

When I made this one I liked it so much I had to have one for myself.  See below pic.
Wood looked liked plain jane no grain maple when I put in on the lathe but it polished up kind of nice.
Also two piece with o-ring fit and high pitched shorebird voice.

frshwtr - don't give up on me, still trying to record a sound file.
