Post by: ohiobob on June 03, 2008, 02:00:57 PM
Not sure if these are good prices or not, but I got this from Midsouth Shooters Supply in an E-Mail today.
I am not sure how to "Hot Link" the site on here so I will just post the Address.

Looks like a good price if the shipping is reasonable.

The Cabelas ad we got the other day had them for $20 & the holster came with it. Otherwise those prices aren't bad at all.

Chad,

You can be in the "control" group and go out without one and report  back.   :biggrin:

Bob-- A co-worker uses one when coyote hunting. He doesn't blame the T-Cell for getting busted. The dog just plain old got downwind of him thru the high grass. Your odor is still out there too. Thats the best I can tell you. I carry mine bowhunting in the early season & believe the deer smell me more than the T-Cell too.

The Wife wants to try one for the small Porch/Patio we have in the back, so if it works good I will probably buy a few for me and the kids.

I took mine to Canada last week (3 - 9 July). The mosquitos were terrible. Spray repelant with deet would keep them at bay for a while. Thermacell kept them away as long as it was on. Also good for the black flies.  Gnats were still irritating, but they don't bite. Bottom line - Thermacell works!

We got biting gnats around here...and they only seemed to be mildly tamed by it. Mines proven worth it's weight though against mosquitos.

The weekend of the 25th, the kid and I are going to load up and camp out on one of the rivers sandbars...this will be the ultimate test. The most diverse conditions known to man.  :eyebrownod: :eyebrow: :shrug:

You need to get a kill under your belt with it running to convince him it's harmless. :eyebrow:
I dont know if it'll do chiggers or not, they never bothered me.

I can feel your pain (or itch).  I'm like a Big Mac to chiggers.  Only thing worse is those dayum seed ticks at the LBL.  Talk about misery!    :sad2:

I wish I would have taken mine yesterday morning on our crow hunt, the first stand the mosquito's weren't to bad and we put some "Bug Juice" on our ears and neck, we all wore face nets but the damn buzzing was annoying.
The 2nd stand we got attacked and the kids couldn't hold still so as soonas we shot the kids were flailing at the bugs.
The reason I didn't take my Thermocell is because I knew no one else had one and I didn't feel right about me being the only person to have one.
These mosquito's at the 2nd stand were the worse I have ever saw and I have been in some bad places so no one wanted to make any more stands because we were all running low on blood and walking out across the fields I told everyone that from no on I would take my Thermocell regardless of who had what.
Well yesterday Wally World sold at least 3-4 Thermocell units and on all of our future hunts the crew will be "Thermo'd Out"  ;yes;
