this is the town of viola witch is only half an hour from my house located on the same river.
:shck: That was the house I saw on the weather channel falling into the river this AM!! Get the hell outta there while you still have roads to drive on!! They also showed a washed out bridge & I big chunk of road somewhere around there!!
Good Luck & we'll be thinking about you guys!!
Thats terrible, I guess I can live with this heat. Good luck, use your heads, mother nature is tough.
Mother Nature doesn't suffer fools, so I'm figuring you two better get out of there before she notices you. :sneer:
In all seriousness, I hope y'all make out alright.
Lake Delton is now gone :shck:
The water rushing into, completely blew it out and it all ran south. There's nothing but a mudhole there now. This is in the Wisconsin Dells where all the Tommy Bartlett water ski shows took place. Theres a ski ramp sunk in the mud at the bottom of the now gone lake Delton.
Thanks for the replys Ill tell ya Im keepin my eyes and ears open I stayed home from work today they are about to close the only road left to where I work I didnt feel like gettin stuck in that town. But so far the town I live in is ok but if the sauk city dam goes it will send about 8.9 square miles of water my way that would be a total nightmare for everyone on this river, it would take about 2 days for the water to get here so hopefully I have time to get out.
THEN Ill be headin over to jimmers hes on alot higher ground. :puke:
Dont worry Jim Ill bring my own toothbrush this time :eyebrownod:
I hope the rain forcasted holds off we certainly dont need it. :holdon:
Prayin for you folks.
Hey Rich...pack up all your belongings tonight and put them in the boat. Chain the boat to the porch.
If you wake up and the boats floating off the trailer, just motor on over this way till you get to the bottom of the hill :eyebrownod:
I'll back one of the trucks down there tonight and leave the keys under the seat for ya.
Bring beer and cat litter
:roflmao: :roflmao: :nono:You aint got em all JIm :nono:
Whaat?...my marbles?
You guys be safe. Flood waters are nothin' to fool with. Before you know it you can get trapped. :shock2:
Play it safe and get out while you can.

Yeah, what dad just said. I know you boys are yanks and all, but I couldn't stand the thought of something happening to you.
Please be careful.
Thanks guys for the concern ;yes; Ive made preparations and luckily my neighbor is an emt and shes keepin me updated frequently on whats going on. They also have a sheriffs deputy parked at the edge town at all times in case we need to evacuate.
Jim is pretty safe the town he lives in is so high above the river they dont even get mosquitoes there.
Rich
QuoteJim is pretty safe the town he lives in is so high above the river they dont even get mosquitoes there.
Other then the population Rick, hows the elevation of the town? :laugh2:
Rick,
I hope that the water starts going down soon. I was watching homes get the foundations washed out from under them on the noon news. They also thought that more rain is going to be hitting the southern part of the state.
If you go to Jim's just take along some beer and Kitty litter and he will welcome you with open arms. :innocentwhistle:
Later,
Jerry
Don't ask about the kitty litter. It's all good. :innocentwhistle: :roflmao: :roflmao:
Be Careful & when your neighbor says RUN!! Don't wait for all three letters to hit your ears!!
I sure hope the rains quit up there too. I'm thinking about you good folks!! Be Careful!!
Todd the elevation of my town starts right two feet above the river to about 50 feet above it built on a hillside more or less.
My house is like 15 ft above normal levels and im about 1.5 blocks awy from it.
Jim is up high not sure how high above he is and he is also quit aways away.
I'm just under 2000 feet above sea level. Rich is well under 500 :innocentwhistle:
From the news on TV you guys in Wisconsin are getting hit pretty hard, we could sure use some of that water down here in SC, hey take Semps advice and don't play around with floods . cc
Here we go again its 12:30am Im lookin at the radar we have another line of big ass storms headin our way. :argh: :argh: :madd:
Just checked the weather radar and it looks like you're still getting pounded. I hope you got the beer and the kitty litter already in the truck and ready to make a run for it. Keep an eye on that water. It can come up FAST.
Dayyum!! Our local news said your crops are gonna be a total loss if they can't plant them by the end of this week. Is this true too?? I know your growing season is probably about 4 weeks shorter than ours here in Ohio.
I have always said I had rather have mud between my toes that dust up my nose but having water up your nose is another story, its hot and dry down here but we did have a rain last night that we badly need, its hard to believe all the bad weather you guys are getting and hope you make out alright.cc
We got a couple towns nearby with cars tumbling end for end down the streets as the river takes over. :whew:
Went to pick the girls up tonight and then it REALLY started pounding some rain. (Four hour road trip) Halfway across the state it turned into tornados, people were pulling off the highway and crawling up under the overpasses :iroll: Water was rushing aross the roads as the creeks in the low spost and the culverts couldnt handle it.
My cell phone rings and it's the ex with the girls heading to meet me. She screams, this is bullsh!!...there's cars all over the road and I'm following a god da!!!!! tornado, literally! :laf:
Total panic.
On the way home the girls said they felt a lot safer with Dad
:laf:I can just about here that conversation! Always nice talking with an Ex. :laf: Glad you and the girls made it home safe!

Of course they felt safer with you. Haven't you ever watched the Wizard of Oz and seen the witch in that storm? The girls were riding with her. :innocentwhistle:
Jerry

Hey Jimbo what do you think the ex would say if she came and read all the nice stuff being said  lol you guys put your waders on and hang in there.
She'd wonder why I was refraining and being nice Cody
lmfao yes your being very nice
This one made it back to page 5. :whew:
:laf: :laf:
How are things going now?? Is life back to whatever normal was up there?? :roflmao: Just kiddin there folks.
Curiosity got the better of me when I just looked at the big radar picture a few minutes ago. Inquiring mind(s) want to know.
Ehhhhhhhh, for the most part yeah I guess. It really put a hamper on the fishing as the river looks like chocolate milk.
There's a lot of rebuilding taking place, but life is going on.
I guess the main thing is there weren't too many deaths or illnesses from the sewage plants being flooded under. And yes life does go on. Hope everybody recovers nicely from it.
