Title: New Guy in town
Post by: John_NY on June 17, 2008, 01:49:18 AM
Hello everyone. My name is John and I'm from northern N.Y. I have been making antler calls for about a year now. I just started turning calls for about 7 or 8 weeks now so I'm not very good yet but I'm working on it. I know a few of you from THO but I see alot of new names as well. It's nice to meet you all and I have enjoyed reading here for the last few days. Here is a picture of some of my calls. I make my howler toneboards from delrin and jc reeds for the other calls.

John,

Welcome to FnF.  It is always nice to see another call maker, especially one that is making calls that look like these this soon.  Keep following Al's tutorials and advice and you will do well.

Again, welcome,

Jerry

good variety in first pic. i'm pulled to the back row on the right side for type of woods as well shapes. was wondering what wood was the second from center. nice job on all of them but as you know we all have our likes and thats what caught my eye.

The top center is a colorwood howler and the ones on the right you mentioned if I understood right, three of them are cocobolo and one black walnut. The picture is kinda dark. sorry.  The 3 in the second pic. are zebra wood. Thanks for the comments.

Hey John,

Glad you made it over here.  These guys were missing out on some of those great looking and sounding calls you make (I can say that because I have one and it is a fine call)  now you can share your work with them too.

All we have to do now is get your son Chad over here (another predator call maker).  I'm sure you've found another "home away from home" with FnF.

Al

Thanks Al. Now it looks like I have hundreds of pages left to read again. These old eyes are getting sore.  Yes I told Chad I had came here and registered. I will try and get him over here. I'll call him today and pester him on the phone for awhile.  :laf:

Thanks for the welcome folks.
