Title: Texas Ebony bite reed
Post by: Tjones on June 25, 2008, 09:10:26 AM
Here is some pics of some Texas Ebony, with a bite reed. Its headed to Oregon for an elk hunter. These reeds make great cow calls. The wood was mostly sapwood but with the dark streak in it made a great contrast. I took the taper off the reed and added the O Rings,,I am not sure where that idea came from  :innocentwhistle:   , it sure worked good, I wish I would have thought of it

Nice shape and finish on that call and the O-rings really work well.  Now as for that old Winchester in the picture - that too would be nice to own.

Pretty call.  I like the design.   Seems to flow well with the bite reed.

Nice job
