I remember a video from Ben a while back on Dirt Track Racing, I just got back with the family from the local track.
Man, its been years for me, but most of the same local hero's are still racing there. One guy and his son are from the same deer camp I belong too.
My kids enjoyed it better than an amusment park ! Thank god for dirt !
If ya aint got dirt in yer beer, you're not at a real race :yoyo:
I haven't been to the dirt races in a long time either. They closed the track 45 minutes away & I haven't gotten around to going to the tracks that are 1 1/2hrs away yet. But I always enjoyed it. I need to find a decent tractor pull to go to this summer.
I like the mud bogs myself.
Dirt track racing... a tradition in the south. :laf:
My parents happen to live just across the highway from a dirt track speedway. When I was growing up, they had stock car races there every Saturday night. The owner, at the time, was a good family friend. As long as he owned the track we had free gate passes. Needless to say the whole family could be found there most every Saturday.
Today, my sister and her husband own and operate a motocross track ( Meadow Creek MX) located on their farm just outside of Crossville, Tn. I never got into dirt bikes, too old to start now but several of the younger family members have raced the circuits.
