Title: Dyed Box Elder Burl Predator Trumpet
Post by: armyturner on July 03, 2008, 07:41:54 PM
Here is a Predator Trumpet that I knocked out this morning. It is made from dyed/stabilized Box Elder Burl with a delrin mouthpiece. The call is 7 1/2" long.

It has an unbladed LV025 reed in it, but the added length makes the pitch higher than normal. It runs between a cottontail and a rodent in pitch and is much more raspy than a normal bladed LV025.

Dang, that is beautiful. I have a bunch of box elder here that is too punky to turn. Need to stabilize it and see what can happen
