i backed my car into my mom and dads van in their driveway yesterday evening.im gonna need to replace the rear bumber on the van. no obvious damage except the bumper.
how much do you think it will run me to get it repaired? i could turn it in on insurance but my deductible is kinda high so id probably end up paying for it anyway out of pocket. if i claim it first then my insurance rates would go up to boot.
heres what it looks like.
any ideas as to how much itll cost to fix it?

Is that just plastic? is it cracked? may be able to take it off and pop it back out. if not probally will have to get a new one.
Me personally, I would try not to turn it in on insurance either.
Doesn't that stink, ya pay out the rear for it, but are afraid to use it. :nono:
The way I usually handle stuff like this, my best friend owns a good sized salvage yard.
Not sure if you have a good one in your area or not. Now a days with the net, you can give them all
the vehicle info and they can do a perty good search to locate ya the parts. Give them even
the color, ya never know ya might get lucky and they can find one the same color to save ya painting it.
I'd start by checkin the net yourself first. "Google" what your lookin for, maybe even check e'bay.
I don't have any idea by lookin at the pics what it would run ya, sorry.
Let us know what ya come up with.
Scott
2 estimates.. 984 and 1200.00
Before I scrolled down and seen your estimates I was figuring around $1,000 for the parts and labor. The newer type bumpers are ridiculous for being plastic.
What make and year is the van
We have a 99 explorer in the shop now and a new bumper with matching paint is $60 less then one in the junk yard
Your best bet is to shop around or find one setting someplace and make an offer on the bumper.Who knows you may just get lucky :eyebrow:
i dont get lucky, least not on a regular basis, i have kids ya know , they have a way of runnin off the good men folk, lol  :eyebrow:

Dear Abby,
I am single and have several kids. I am having a good time talking (on-line) with a married man, who lives relatively close, and who might be one of my relatives - you know how these things start. I really need your help. Should I tell my folks that it was really me that hit their van or let them think it was my sister?
Thanks,
Cathryn

Hawks feather......Do I know you? I lived in northeast Ohio for 14 years and guided some shore steelhead and walleye.
I made fishing lures for many years spinners mostly. Your name seems familiar to me.
Al,
I may have contacted you a few years back about some steelhead work. A group of us from this side of the state were looking into headed over to the eastern side for some fishing, but we could never get dates to match. Years ago I made some spinner baits as well, but that was probably when you were in grade school.
