This is the one that Maddie raised. It started as an egg on the bottom side of a milkweed leaf. After hatching she continued to get it fresh milkweed leaves each day and it finally became a chrysalis. It hatched out while she was here and the picture when we released it out in the country a few hours later.

That is too cool. I didnt even know such a thing was possible through human intervention :congrats:
I believe the milkweed contributes to the nasty taste so birds leave them alone, warned of by the bright color...I think.
