Title: Evening fishin trip
Post by: FinsnFur on September 28, 2008, 09:03:46 PM
Rick223 and I took to the river this afternoon. It's been a long time since we both hit er off this. I think the last time we cranked in this many together was last summer.

We lost count but caught a lil bit off everything, Smallmouth, Largemouth, Northern Pike, Bowfin (dogfish), Walleye. Even had a few Gars on but couldn't get em landed.

Your truly with the First smalley of the evening

A lil Largemouth

Rich got himself a nice Walleye and got camera shy. I think you can see it here in the fish basket.

Heading home...we had pretty big time and it was long over due.

That look's like you had more fun than should be legal.  Who would of thought a lake trout would swim from Northern Sask. to there just to get rid of my hook.   You can send it back anytime.

Lake trout :roflmao:

That was the Wisconsin River, Semp. Feeds into the Mississippi up here.
And Beer cans?   :nono: You'll never see a beer in my hand when I'm fishin. :nono: I take fishin too seriously, I'm too into it. Same with Rich.
If were hooking up, we'll run the town the night before or something, and stay at whoevers house is closest, but we've never drank while fishin.

Good for you, Jim.  My fishing boat always looked like the local beer joint's parking lot on Sunday morning.     I don't drink anymore but I still have the memories.   :eyebrownod:

Sounds like a great fishing trip! Wish I had some walleye to eat tonight.

The big jig is a salt water rig for bottom fish and rock cod.  They sell them commonly in tackle stores in the Pacific NW.  Most of the rock cod have big bucket mouths, and the plastic body goes on a huge hook and an 8 to 16 ounce jig head to get deep in tide currents.

Interesting Okanagan.

Rich did tie it on and throw it a few times. Once I stopped laughing I told him if he got anything on that I'd kiss his ass.
It sounded like a bowling bowl when it hit the water. :laf:

Gotta love small boats. We should start a thread about custom jon boats. and add all the customizing ideas and projects from all the members. pictures and everything. That would be cool. I know I have a few pics I would be happy to share.
