A guy that I work with helps his father milk some cows in the evenings, and doesn't want the coyotes around their place. So tonight, a buddy and I went over to their farm to try calling in a coyote.
Here is the view of the cow pasture from the road. It doesn't look like much, but there is a creek with a few trees that runs in the middle of their farm between the corn fields. The milk barn is just to the right of the picture.

I started out with three long loud howls from my trusty ole Cronk howler. About a minute later, I started in on an open reed distress call doing some bunny distress cries. At about the 4 minute mark, my buddy says that he sees a coyote. The only problem was that the cows that had left the milk barn from being milked were around us trying to figure out what we were. I am on the right side of the fence, and my buddy is on the left side of the fence. The coyote was right down the fence, but the cows were in the way! :argh:

The cows finally moved, but the coyote dissappeared. I finally spot him, and turn the camera to video mode. The video ain't the greatest, but there is a coyote in the middle of the screen that ends up taking a long nap.
