Here are a couple frame grabs from a buck we video'ed tonight at 5:20 pm.
This lucky buck caught a whiff of us at 80 yards and the game was over, but, it's early yet. The goal is to get a better look at his rack, up close, like in my hands close.
Once the video of the hunt uploads I'll post it here.

Thats a real nice buck right there
Just remember,Close only counts in horseshoes and hand gernades :laf:
Better luck next time
Holy balls, I wonder how he even managed to get through the timber with a rack like that. :shck:
Very nice! I didn't see anything worth shooting from the stand this weekend but did catch a glimpse of a healthy 130 incher just before dark on a farm I haven't hung a stand on yet. We were driving thru the fields after gathering Hickory Nuts in the back 40 and jumped him and 5 does out of a sinkhole. I will probably wait another week, maybe two, before going into that property with a stand. I hate moving in on good deer during these hot and humid days with light & variable winds! Looks like you're on the right track with that one!
PS: My niece's new husband killed a 128" 8 pointer down the rdige from me on Saturday evening.
That is one nice looking rack, I mean set, uh antlers. There are a few like that hidden somewhere in this state, but I don't think I will see them even at 80 yards, unless they have stopped breathing. It does look like a buck that is worth spending some time working. It does help that the corn has been picked - it is still all standing around here and they are just starting to take off the beans. But maybe the corn there hasn't been picked and that old buck has just run through the field a couple of times. Stay after him and keep us posted.

Nice lookin buck! Nice and tall.
Hope ya get to "inspect" him closer.

Yeah daddy fixed it for ya.
When you tubing you only need the last piece of the code. The one made up of all those numbers and letters. Click the YouTube button from post options and put that code between those.
Mannnnnn, he sure thinks he's cool strutting around out in that field doesn't he? :laf: :laf:

Wow!! canine,
That is a keeper. His antlers look even taller in the video than in the stills. What a whopper buck. Something like that might even get me excited about hunting deer again. Good luck connecting with him. I would like a closer look at that rack myself. Be sure to post pictures, although I bet I didn't need to say that did I??
Jim
Nice video.
Were you guys callin?
He acts like he was comin in to grunts
lookin for the other buck.
The reason this buck was on his feet, I believe, was he heard us climbing the tree's with our climbers. My son was laggin behind, I was climbing to about 25 ft., half way up I turn around to see why my son is taking so long. When I turned around I seen this buck peeking his head out of the draw he was most likely bedded in. He was close to 150 yards away, I whispered to Thane to quit climbing and just stood there and watched the buck, he was froze like a statue. After several minutes of a stare down I figured there was no way he'd ever come towards us, so we might as well finish climbing and hope for another buck or doe to be in the area.
I had about 8 feet left to climb, so on up I went, with the buck staring right at my direction. I get to my desired height and turn around and see that the buck had stepped out of the cover and actually came 15 to 20 yards toward us I told thane to quit climbing, turn around and turn the camera on. I was at about 25 ft and he was STILL at about 10 or 12 . We had a stare down for quite a while then he started working our way, He finally comes into camera view at about 90 yards or so and when you see the footage, you'll see he actually thinks, I believe, that it was another buck in his area rubbing on trees. Unfortunately last nights winds were so light and variable it played into his fortune and he got a nose full of us.
I think with the right wind and setup he can be rattled and decoyed in. That's my plan for him, this place is small and he'll be a tuffy but that's what those big boy's are all about!!
JD
That's a fine buck JD. I hope you get a chance at him. One like that really gives me the fever. Around here you would see a buck like this one time and one time only. Sorry to hear about you needing the knife. I hope you hair up and heal quickly.
Bob
Makes sense JD. He sure acted like he was comin to check somthin out.
Hope all goes well and ya get back out there and get another crack at him.
Scott
