Title: a couple cedar calls.
Post by: John_NY on October 06, 2008, 08:29:27 PM
I went out in the shop today and made these 2 calls out of cedar.  The bottom call is a howler and the top is an open reed distress. Both with my boards.  They both came from the same piece of cedar but they sure look different.

I really liked turning these calls. It was like turning a stick of butter.  :laf:

I have made a lot of cedar calls and they are soft and get dents in them after a while of use. I still love em and always carry one in bird distress. they even feel different in your hand.
Nice calls John. :highclap:

I never thought about that. I bet they would dent easy, as easy as they turn.  Thanks for the heads-up on that one.
