Post by: pitw on October 13, 2008, 09:33:45 PM
Today was Thanks Giving up here in Canada. Well it was quite a day.  Spent it at home with the family and out walking some bush.   Supper was pretty good too.

All food was from our harvest and I give thank's that I'm allowed to live this way.

Happy Thanksgiving up north!  Looks like the about the same thing that happens here - turkey, good food, and needing a walk because I ate too much.

I am not trying to be funny here, but is Thanksgiving celebrated for the same reason that it is here?  I realize that after the first Thanksgiving celebration, that people have spread and I am sure many live in Canada and other countries.  But if it is the same celebration, do you know why Canada changed the date?  Or maybe why the US changed the date.  Like I said, I really don't know.

Hawks Feather I'm aware how your's started and I'm sure our's was a mimic type of holiday.  I think we have it earlier up here due to weather conditions and the fact we want first pick of the vittle's.  I think most holiday's they start anymore is just a way of marketing more stuff.  Mind we sure don't go on the shopping spree you guy's do. :iroll:
