Got out in between the rain showers today. Ended up with these buggers. The geese didnt want to play today.

Still appear's that you are enjoying yourself. Do them three eat fish too.
yep, they're hooded merganser hens. They eat small fish, crustaceans and aquatic insects.
I never see them up here so bear with me. Do they taste as good as say a mallard that has been grain fed?
Nice hens Silencer. :highclap: always look forward to the fowl pic's  Looks like the leaves have already fallen up your way?
Cool pics......What load are you shooting?
Leaves are pretty much gone already. Nights have been down right cold and freezing.
We use 3 inch 3's for duck. 2's and BB for the geese. Steel dont hit as hard as lead so you need them faster shooting loads. The loads we're using right now run at 1550 fps.
Did ya go with Black Cloud?
Uncle Ronnie does and loves it. Thats just too expensive for me. I just use the remington fast steel and winchester cheapies. When you're decoyin shots are under 30yds usually 20 or less and my cheapies work just fine
mmm-mmm theres some right fine eatin' there. :eyebrow:
At least you hit what you were shootin' for. I came home empty-handed yesterday after shooting at, oh I don't know, at least 7 different ducks (woodies and mallards) Hopefully tomorrow fairs a bit better. :iroll:
